It produces full color, pocket-sized prints that have a sticky back. Just peel off the paper and stick in your journal, scrap book, or, well, just about anyplace. Take a picture with your Bluetooth enabled cell phone camera and print on the spot. Or take a picture with your PictBridge-enabled digital camera, connect a USB cable and print at your leisure. Easy to use, you just follow the instructions on your camera screen, select the image and within 60 seconds, a fade-resistant, long-lasting print is ready to share. Plus, this printer is small enough to fit in a purse, briefcase or backpack.
Out of the box, there is a brief fold-out users manual, the printer, a package of 10 Zink® papers, a lithium ion battery and the charger.
Do not attempt to start printing before you fully charge the unit. Insert the battery and plug in to the charger before attempting to use the mobile printer. However, it came with a half-charge on the battery, so giving it a fifteen minute or so time to get charging, you can start printing while the unit is charging.
How it works - It uses a special paper, called Zink®. You only buy the special papers, no ink cartridges, ribbons or toner to purchase and carry around. Zink Zero Ink® Technology from Zink Imaging's patented technology creates full-color digital prints from an ink-free system. The process is a patented Zink Paper® which is an advanced composite material of cyan, yellow and magenta dye crystals embedded inside with a protective polymer overcoat layer outside. The paper looks like regular white photo paper even though it clearly is not. The printer then uses heat to activate and colorize the crystals.
This is one of the most fun pieces of electronic equipment to be purchased today. It gives the instant gratification of seeing your pictures immediately plus the ability to stick them in your journal or scrapbook or share with friends. Grab one and go shoot some pictures!
