Pogo: Online Gaming Site

A year ago I acquired a paid membership to the online gaming site, Pogo.com. I wanted to see what the excitement about the paid membership was about. Within a month I was hooked on it. For a few hours a day, it felt like I was in a magical world and not an online gaming site. Pogo was completely different from any other online gaming site and I felt it was much better.

Pogo has many features, one feature is jackpot spins. To receive a jackpot spin for any specific game, the player has to either win the game or work to a specific point in the game. With the jackpot spin a person can win several items including t-shirts, mugs, backgrounds and wallpapers for a computer, and even money. Yes, real money! Each game has a progressive jackpot up to $5,000.00. With a paid membership the jackpot can be doubled. So playing solitaire can end up earning money!

Another feature is two things actually linked together. Those two things are tokens and a pogo mini. For every game pogo offers, a player receives tokens. A player can also receive tokens through the jackpot spins in each game. The amount of tokens a player can accumulate is unlimited. These tokens can be used in two ways. The first way is that a player can redeem them in to enter the daily, weekly, or monthly drawings for cash. The amount of money won depends on what drawing a person enters and the amount to enter differs for each drawing also. The second way of using tokens is for a player to purchase items for his or her mini. The mini comes with a paid membership. A pogo mini is an animated online doll. With the tokens a player can get the mini clothes, backgrounds, or little side items. A player can dress their pogo mini up as anything they like, such as a fireman, a gorilla, or some type of casual looking person. The backgrounds differ through the seasons or the holidays that are approaching. For instance, my pogo mini looks like a mini Steve Irwin in the backyard with an alien by his side. Pogo even puts on mini parties so players can show off their minis and be featured on the pogo main page.

The next feature is my favorite. It is the badges. Badges are colorful pictures that are displayed in the players profiles. A badge can be won in two different ways. One way to earn a badge is through game ranks. Almost every game on pogo offers game ranks. Game ranks are progress made in the game. They are like video games that can be saved. At certain game ranks, like progressive points, a badge is given to reward the player. The other way to earn a badge is through the challenges. Every week pogo challenges players by setting certain goals in specific games. The goals can be, a certain amount of tokens or a number of games. A lot of players, myself included, look forward to each of these weekly challenges.

The last feature is the game rooms. The rooms themselves have their own features. They have different sections for age groups or just for anyone. These rooms offer profanity filters that can be turned on or off. That is different from many other online gaming sites than pogo. Also different from those other online gaming sites is that players can report another player's abuse and pogo can actually go back and review those chats. Every pogo rooms chat is recorded by pogo for future reference. Through that chat reference pogo can determine if the terms of agreement have been broken and they can then take the appropriate actions.

All in all Pogo has been worth every dime because of the enjoyment it provides and the hours of entertainment received from the use of its site. Pogo is one of the top online gaming sites.

You can get a membership for $5.99 a month -- I do month-by-month as I only use the site in spurts but when I do, I enjoy it.

I love Pogo, but I couldn't see paying the $40 to renew this time so I am stuck without my favorite games. Oh well I spent way too much time on there anyway. Great article!
