Point Guard (PG) Deep Sleepers - Top 3

Jerryd Bayless - Tor - pg/sg

After being traded mid-season from New Orleans to Toronto last year, Bayless finally started to display some of his potential and upside as a starting PG in the NBA. In 14 games as a starter for Toronto last year, Bayless racked up an outstanding stat line that included averages of 18 points, 6.7 assists, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.2 three pointer per game. With the aging Jose Calderon as the main competition for minutes at PG in Toronto to begin the 2011-2012 season, Bayless is one young PG that fantasy basketball teams will want to consider taking a flyer on this season.

2010-2011 Stats: 42.2 fg% -- 9.2 ppg -- 0.7 3pt -- 2.3 reb -- 3.8 ast -- 0.5 stl -- 0.1 blk

2011-2012 Projected Stats: 44 fg% -- 15.0 ppg -- 1.0 3pt -- 3.5 reb -- 6.5 ast -- 1.0 stl -- 0.0 blk

Ricky Rubio - Min - pg/sg

Two years after being drafted as the 5th overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft, Rubio will finally be making his NBA debut this season. With the starting PG spot in Minnesota his for the taking, Rubio enters an ideal situation for him to be successful immediately this season. Rubio should see plenty of playing time, with 30 minutes played per game a near guarantee for him to begin the 2011-2012 season.

2010-2011 Stats: NA overseas

2011-2012 Projected Stats: 42 fg% -- 8.0 ppg -- 0.5 3pt -- 1.5 reb -- 5.5 ast -- 1.0 stl -- 0.0 blk

Jonny Flynn - Hou - pg

Considered one of the top young up and coming PG just two years ago as a rookie in Minnesota, Flynn dealt with nagging injuries during his sophomore season last year and eventually found himself out of Minnesota's plans and in Houston to begin the 2011-2012 season. Unfortunately for Flynn, the Rockets already have a young point guard in Kyle Lowry handling the starting job. Yet if Flynn can return to being 100% healthy like he was as a rookie during the 2009-2010 season, then there is plenty of potential for him to become a valuable asset in the Rockets lineup this season.

2010-2011 Stats: 36.5 fg% -- 5.3 ppg -- 0.6 3pt -- 1.5 reb -- 3.4 ast -- 0.6 stl -- 0.1 blk

2011-2012 Projected Stats: 40 fg% -- 8.0 ppg -- 1.0 3pt -- 1.5 reb -- 3.5 ast -- 0.8 stl -- 0.0 blk
