Point Spread Predictions for Week Three of the 2010 NFL Season

Handicapping Week Three

Randy Inman
Thanks for checking out my handicap picks for week three of the 2010 NFL season. I got the point spread for these picks at Cooperspick.com. These games against the spread should help the football gamblers with their picks for week three of the 2010 NFL season. To see more picks go to this website which has standings and picks from several Associatecontent.com writers. To be honest I do much better in my straight won loss picks that you can see here. But I will give this weeks NFL games my best handicapped picks against the spread.

Cincinnati (-3) at Carolina (3)

The Bengals often seem like they can't beat anybody not in their division and are a little banged up. Carolina used to be stout at home but have tanked this season in an effort to dump salary cap. Jimmy Clausen makes his first NFL start in this game. Take the Bengals and the points as Cincinnati wins 21 to 14.

San Francisco (-2.5) at Kansas City (2.5)

The 49ers showed more heart in a week two loss to the Saints and Kansas City is a surprising two and o for the season. The Chiefs have no passing game and have won with defense and special teams so far in 2010. Take the Chiefs to cover the spread in week three as they win 17 to 10.

Buffalo (14) at New England (-14)

The hapless Bills have made a quarterback change but I don't think it will be enough. Take New England against the points in a 31 to 13 win in week three.

Tennessee (3) at New York Giants (-3)

Vince Young played terribly against the Steelers and Chris Johnson was also contained by them. Young was benched but gets the start against the Giants. New York beat a bad Panthers team then lost to a good Colts team. Take the Giants to cover in a 24 to 14 win at home.

Cleveland (10) at Baltimore (-10)

The Browns are a bad team and the Ravens are supposed to be a great one. The offense which looked good on paper has struggled for the Ravens. The games in this division usually are close. Take the Browns and the points but the Ravens will win the game 17 to 10.

Dallas (3) at Houston (-3)

The Dallas Cowboys have imploded due to poor discipline and shoddy offensive line play. The Texans won two emotional games so far in 2010 that may leave them a little flat. But I think Dallas has yet to hit rock bottom, my prediction for week three is the Texans win 27 to 23 and cover the spread.

Detroit (11) at Minnesota (-11)

The Lions are terrible on defense and pretty good on offense even with Matt Stafford out. Rookie running back Jahvid Best is the real deal. Minnesota has looked out of sorts on offense and old on defense. Take the Lions and the points but the Vikings win the game 24 to 17.

Atlanta (4) at New Orleans (-4)

The Falcons can score on anyone but the Steelers but their defense is suspect. The Saints have played two close games and lost Reggie Bush to a broken leg so far in 2010. Take the Saints at home to cover the week three spread and win 31 to 24.

Pittsburgh (-3) at Tampa Bay (3)

The Steelers may start Terry Bradshaw, I mean old timer Charlie Batch against this 2-0 Bucs team. Josh Freeman has looked real good but won't against the Steelers. My week three pick with the spread is to take the Steelers as they win 10-3.

Washington (-3.5) at St. Louis (3.5)

The Rams looked decent but are not nearly there yet. The Redskins can score on anyone with a rejuvenated Donovan McNabb at quarterback. Take the Redskins to cover the spread in week three and beat the Rams, 24 to 7.

Philadelphia (-3) at Jacksonville (3)

Michael Vick has been named the starting quarterback over Kevin Kolb coming into Jacksonville. Jacksonville has no quarterback but the Eagles have no defense. However take the Eagles to cover the points under Michael Vick. My week three pick is Eagles 28 the Jaguars 24.

Indianapolis (-6) at Denver (6)

The Colts looked good against the Giants and even showed a running game for a change. Denver looked good against a bad Seattle team in week two. The Broncos could come into the game pumped beyond measure or flat due to the suicide of one of their players. I don't think it will matter as the Colts roll on them 31 to 17. So take the Colts against the spread against Denver.

Oakland (4.5) at Arizona (-4.5)

Neither team can find a quarterback but make up for it with a crappy defense. Take the home team to cover the spread as Arizona beats Oakland 14 to 6.

San Diego (-5) at Seattle (5)

Neither team has looked great in 2010 but I think Seattle is really bad. Take the Chargers to cover the spread in week three in a 24 to 10 win.

New York Jets (2) at Miami (-2)

Look for a under bet in this game between the Jets and Dolphins as both play good defense and subpar offense. Take Miami to cover the spread and win 13 to 10 at home against the New York Jets.

Green Bay (-3) at Chicago (3)

Passes will abound in this important division game for both teams. I think the Packers defense is better than the Bears but take Chicago and the points in a 28 to 27 win by Green Bay.

    Hey there,
Your picks are and have been pretty on point. We don’t gamble we have an office pool between a few guys to win an NFL shops gift card. Your little spot here started me to start bringing my writing over to AC. Check some out when you get a chance. Oh, and thanks again for being an amazing contributor!
