The first thing that I tried is a solution that I found from talking to various people. Now these people were not doctors or medical professionals, but friends off of Facebook who have dealt with Poison Ivy in the past. Now one suggestion that they gave to me that I was very skeptical about, but decided that it was worth a chance if it helped get rid of the Poison Ivy on my face was to take a cut a lemon and half and rub it onto the affected area.
I will warn you that this burns at first, but if your able to withstand the burning for the first few minutes it will work out really well for you and clears it up quickly. I know for me that the Poison Ivy that was on my face was really bad and very noticeable when I put the Lemon on it. However, after I put the Lemon onto the affected portion of my face by the next morning it was almost totally cleared up. However, to prevent your face from becoming super sticky I did have to rinse the Lemon off after about ten minutes.
I have read about some other natural remedies that I have not tried yet, but from what I have seen online and in talking to various other people on my Facebook account and in the stores they have heard of them and tried them before. Now this natural remedies that the other people have tried they all tell me that they have worked really well. One remedy that people can find very easily is to take baths in oatmeal. Now this works out really well for me in helping with the Poison Ivy. However, since I have been using a different treatment Tecnu I take showers with that eliminating the oatmeal baths so I found an oatmeal lotion that keeps my skin moist because the soaps and other treatments for your Poison Ivy could dry your skin out.
While you might read about many different Poison Ivy treatments that are available you will want to take into account the natural remedies to. I know from my own experience that at times the natural remedies work better than what you would think. You will just have to weigh each one of the home remedies to see which will fit your situation.
