Pokemon: Underneath the Training

Pokemon is generically go train and battle with your friends. But the newest versions of Pokemon have more than before. Not only can you go the standard way of battling, training, and collecting badges. You have quite a few options to give the game much more play life. The first part about Pokemon would be berry growing or farming. In the game there is a store that will trade berries for some cool items for your underground base. However the amounts of berries needed are rather large, and will take many days to cultivate. Another new flair to the berry craze is the poffin cookie.

These cookies will give Pokemon a higher stat in their beauty contest appeal. So collecting the proper berry and cooking it is another new and fun part to the game. Much like the Pokeblocks in previous games. The coolest thing about berry growth would be the special abilities they offer. Berries can now combat super effective attacks from opponent's Pokemon.

This can add a whole new level of strategy to the game. I have come across anti steel, electric, and fighting berries. So now I can raise Pokemon that will be safe from their weakness. Berries have now become a much more important part of the game. before they were there for fun and to help against sleep, paralysis and other status ailments. Now they are a serious part of the game.

In previous versions Pokemon could be moved from the version beforehand to the current version. In other words Pokemon four could import Pokemon from version three. In this version all the Pokemon from Ruby, Sapphire, Leaf Green, and Fire Red can be imported into Pearl and Diamond versions. In other words all the Pokemon in all the games can converge here in these two versions.

The only downside is that in order to import all the new Pokemon you first have to see all 150 Pokemon in your copy. That would be the biggest annoyance in the game I would make a fuss about. But the possibilities are now almost limitless, which will make being a trainer the most amazing experience so far.

Beauty contests were a small shot at making Pokemon more fun. Now they make Pokemon a whole lotta fun. The beauty contest is a full game within a game. The design and execution of the contest is amazing. And it also affects the training and breeding of a Pokemon. Some trainers will give their Pokemon the strongest attack moves, while other trainers will give their Pokemon the strongest contest moves. The contests are not only a match of wits and skill, but are much more fun and involved with the trainer. Plus you can go up against four of your friends over an in house LAN with the wireless functionality in the Nintendo DS.
