Pole Dancing: Everybody's Doing It

It used to be that when you heard the phrase pole dancing you automatically thought of strippers or exotic dancers, but the times have changed and it's time for us to catch up with them. Pole dancing is a great new way to get in shape and have some fun. Women everywhere are trying it and falling in love. It doesn't matter how young or old you are or how fat or thin . Pole dancing is great for every woman of every size and it 's fun, too!

You may wonder how I found out about this new fitness revolution . Well, I was invited to a pole dancing bachelorette party at the Supershag dance studio in Charlestown, Ma. I was skeptical and considered declining thinking that it was something for a group of young women in their early twenties, but that is not so. Pole dancing is for everyone. It's fun, sexy and it's great for getting in shape.

If you happen to be looking for something to do on a ladies' night out, then this is it. Or maybe you're looking for a great new workout class to join with other mothers while the kids are in school. How about celebrating a promotion, a going away party, a new job, or even a retirement party. It's good, healthy and safe fun. I would highly recommend trying it at least once. You probably won't be able to stop. It's addictive! If nothing else you'll have a few new moves to share with that special person in your life, isn't that enough reason right there.

I was even told that there is a Pole Fitness Association. They are involved with performances and competitions all over the world. The Association is trying to include pole fitness in the 2012 Olympic Games. I don't believe that a decision has been made regarding that yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was added. It has great health benefits, it takes skill, a lot of practice and coordination to become great at it.

If you've read this article and you're still not a believer , then you'll just have to try it for yourself. Don't be the last one to try it. It will give you a truly enjoyable conversation piece at your next ladies luncheon or an icebreaker on a date. After all who doesn't want to date someone who recently learned how to pole dance.
