Pole Fitness: Have You Considered Pole Dancing for Fitness?
Can You Really Lose Weight with This New Pole Dance Fitness Craze?
Have you heard about pole dancing for fitness yet? It's all the buzz is Hollywood, popping up just about everywhere. Famous actresses have been flocking to pole fitness helping pole dancing gain it's popularity. Among such stars are, Susan Surandon, who took classes with her daughter, Teri Hatcher of Desperate Housewives and The Girls Next Door star Kendra Wilkinson who actually teamed up with a popular fitness pole company (X-Pole) creating her own brand of sport poles.
Pole fitness studios are poping up in just about every major city, making learning the art of pole dancing accesable to any woman, of any size shape and background. These women are not simply swinging a pole for some kind of Gentleman's club training, but in fact are learning acrobatics, almost circus like tricks and moves that when done on a regular basis is transforming bodies across the globe. As a matter of fact the pole fitness benefits have grabbed a lot of media attention and have been talked about on Oprah's radio show with Dr. Bob Greene. The hit show The Doctor's has repeatedly aired segments on the benefits of pole dancing for fitness for both women and men too! Pole fitness has been talked about on CNN and other popular news shows and has been featured in gyms, but is most commonly found in actual fitness studios geared to women only fitness.
Shedding New Light on The Art of Pole Dancing:
I agree, when I first heard about pole fitness, I was on the fence. I am usually pretty conservative and this to me just sounded tacky. But when I was introduced to some mind blowing videos on Youtube, like this one of World Champion Felix Cane, of people doing amazing tricks, I admit I wanted in! These women weren't stripping, they are dressed in nothing more than a sports bra and underwear but I see much worse at the beach. The lack of clothing helps the pole dancers gain grip on the pole using the friction and tack of their own skin against the pole. Other than that these women were performing beautifully choreographed and freestyle routines that were so captivating it made me realize that this whole pole fitness craze must take hard work and dedication making it great for getting in shape!
The women who I have talked to who pole danced strictly for fitness report better bodies all thanks to being able to stick with a fun workout that always challenges you. Pole dancing for fitness is exciting and fun and much more exciting than a treadmill or an overplayed fitness DVD. Not only that, but these women report a better sense of happiness with their bodies, even when those last few pounds don't move for weeks, they feel sexy, attractive and happy with where they are at the moment. It really is amazing to see your body move in ways you never thought it could, to hold your body weight with just the skin on your thighs or the back of your knee. It's not about dancing for an audience or turning a man on, it's about pushing your body to the limits and gaining strength in every muscle of your body. Pole dancing for fitness will increase your flexibility and you'll feel like a child again doing splits, strattles and touching your head with the heels of your feet! Pole fitness also goes by the name Arial Arts, and that is definitely a better way to put it.
The Bottom Line on Pole Fitness:
Pole dancing/pole fitness is very artistic and expressive, much like ballet but mixed in with acrobatics and gymnastics, made available for any woman! S give it a try, if you can find a studio near you to see what it's all about. You can even get a quality pole for home use and learn online through places like StudioVeena. So if you can by pass the thought of a stripper, and instead think of a strong empowered, physically fit YOU, then hope on a pole and give it a swing!
