Police Beating Victim Rodney King Shot

On November twenty eighth just before midnight, Rodney King was shot while standing on a street corner in San Bernadino, California. When police arrived, they stated that King, as well as many friends who were present, appeared drunk. No alcohol tests were administered at that time, so there are no official statements saying that any of the men were drunk. King was transported to a local hospital where it was determined that he was struck in the face and arm by either pellets or birdshots. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
