Police Using Cadaver Dogs to Search for Kyron Horman

Kyron Horman's mother, Desiree Young, says that new information has lead police to search again for Kyron. This time cadaver dogs were used to search areas north and west of Portland, Oregon. This is the first time that the police and family have given any indication that they believe Kyron may be dead. Everyone involved in the case was holding out hope that Kyron may be confined somewhere, but still alive, but the use of cadaver dogs and the statements of the family seem to indicated a tragic ending for Kyron. Desiree Young stated that she hoped the recent search would bring closure to the case.

The family still believes that Kyron's stepmother, Terri Horman, is involved somehow in the case and that she may have harmed Kyron. A recent divorce proceeding scheduled for January 6, 2011 was cancelled without a new date scheduled. Terri Horman is refusing to testify on her own behalf to avoid incriminating herself, but at the same time she is requesting parenting time with her now two year old daughter, Kiara Horman. Kaine Horman, father of both Kyron and Kiara, is not about to give up the fight to find Kyron and protect Kiara from the potentially harmful behavior of her mother.

Kyron went missing on June 4, 2010, from his elementary school in Oregon. Many believe that Terri Horman staged it to look like she dropped Kyron off at the school science fair and then he disappeared after she left. There are large periods of time unaccounted for in her day and times when she claimed to be in one location when cell phone records placed her elsewhere.

Prior to Kyron's disappearance Terri's older son was sent to live with other family members. There is speculation that she may have disposed of Kyron as revenge against Kaine for her own son's relocation or due to the fact that Kyron may have known something about her son that she did not want made public.

It is unimaginable for most people to think that someone could have raised the handsome boy for many years and then turned on him so violently, but cell phone records, lies from Terri, failed polygraph tests and heresay have kept the investigation focused on Terri. Although it appears that Terri is involved, there is no solid evidence in the case to have Terri arrested for Kyron's disappearance.

Hopefully, the new search will help the police find the evidence they need to put the perpetrator behind bars for good and finally give the Horman family some peace and closure. God bless you, Kyron Horman.
