Political Correctness Sucks Part III

Let me make one thing perfectly clear...if it were possible to pinpoint the person who started all this "Politically Correct" nonsense I would like to see him tied to a chair and forced to listen to rap music non-stop for about 27 years.

Political correctness is a plague attempting to turn us into a faceless mass of vanilla drones without the balls to voice our opinions on anything for fear of offending someone.

There are times when the conspiracy theorist in me thinks the government is behind it all in an effort to squelch free thinkers from speaking out against big brother - a lesson they learned the hard way in the sixties.

Think about it - the average high school student in 1968 had a very strong opinion (one way or the other) about the war in Vietnam and they weren't afraid to vocalize it. They didn't care if they offended anyone, they would alienate their parents, get kicked out of school, even get beaten, arrested or shot if that's what it took to draw attention to their cause.

Today - we've got two wars going on, terrorists knocking on the back door, oil spills, crooks running the banks and even bigger crooks monitoring them, multi-billion dollar companies taking loans from the government so they can keep screwing the little guy - and through it all what does the average high school student care about?

Their iPhone or who's winning on American Idol. Most of them couldn't tell you where Afghanistan is or who Bernie Madoff is. About the biggest sacrifice they'd make for a cause (if they had one) would be to buy one of those rubber bracelets for a couple of bucks.

WOW!

That's civil disobedience gone wild!!!

If our society didn't brainwash us into thinking that it is wrong to express your opinion, the natural anger and passion of our youth would be having a field day with this stuff.

It's a truly ironic fact...when I was young, the older generation said things like; "When I was your age I wasn't out protesting the war, I was fighting it."

Now, as a member of the older generation all I want to say to them is "When I was your age I was making noise, I was telling people what I thought and not caring if I pissed them off or not, I believed in something bigger than Lady Gaga."

All I can think is that these kids don't have any balls.

They think that just because they blast rap music from their car stereo they're making a statement.

Well, I guess they are. They're saying; "Hey, look at me, I learn everything I need to know about what's going on in the world from an overpaid, undereducated punk who can't make a rhyme without dropping the F-Bomb or calling his girlfriend a whore."

I think it's sad.

What's even more depressing is wondering what the next generation will be like.

Will the P.C. virus mutate into something worse, making the next generation a bunch of lobotomized refugees from "The Cuckoo's Nest?"

The Who once sang "I hope I die before I get old" - I think the youth of today has.
