Here - There - and Everywhere
Agreeing in concept and fact is simply a "meeting of the minds".
Continuously perplexed by political views, I find myself flip-flopping as often as our American flag flapping in a swift Washington, D.C. breeze. Agreeing in concept and fact is simply a "meeting of the minds".
Most disconnect and sever friendships and camaraderie over the most meager of differences. They congregate into diverse battalions of like-minded fellows, all claiming supremacy with battle cries of, "It is my way or the highway!" May I add, those highways are full of unexpected potholes and road hazards too numerous to mention. Beware from whom you hitch your ride. Those roads again, those hazards again and am I stuck with this for "four more years" again or do I welcome it?
I think I need a good one-a-day vitamin, or maybe two. Will someone please setup a tea party with a "bring your favorite pill' theme and time permitting, we will fire our favorite guns. Better still; let us organize a block party to repair some of those broken friendships. We will all be in the same area, no excuses.
Next-door is a charming little clinic. The abortion rights groups will love it, and free treatments for sexually transmitted diseases. Two houses down are two houses. One is "pro" and the other is "con". As long as I am not required to pay, listen or watch, I do not care. Oh, but I do care on some issues. Here comes that "flip-flop" again.
My boss is taking more money from my paycheck, the repo company is taking my car, the bank is taking my house and my government is taking me for a ride. I need a bailout, a stimulus and a job would help. The oil spill at my favorite beach is not cleaned as promised, imagine that.
I do not want to take a little baby's life because someone is promiscuous or it is just not convenient to have a child at this time; but does a woman have a right to decide based on her moral gauge, not mine? I believe that marriage is a lifetime covenant between a man and a woman. However, if one is prepared to accept the consequences based on my code of ethics, do I let GOD judge and not me? Of course, HE does not need my help, but I am certain HE appreciates my offer.
I hate guns. I hate violence. I believe in a strong defense and a ready to serve military. I want to help the poor but not the poor "by choice". I believe in health care for all, but not for those who do not want health care, and I do not want to pay for your health care. I believe in GOD, country and family. My need to help the elderly comes from my many experiences watching the elderly victimized by our government. Education is our future and our equalizing thermometer. Protect our children.
In my opinion, with the assistance of the United States government, the banking and lending industries are the most illegitimate entities in the USA. How did we get here? Has America lost its "moral compass?" Where is our leadership? Flip-flopping?
When a people lose its power to rule itself, it has lost its nation.
