Poll Numbers and the Bias of the Mainstream Press

D. Calhoun
Remember when Clinton was facing impeachment and disbarment? The Mainstream Press's response was to run stories every night extolling the president's high popularity in the polls. Then, remember how the same Press incessantly ran stories about President Bush's low poll numbers. Now notice the complete lack of any stories about poll numbers now that President Obama's numbers are at a unprecedented low, and the poll numbers for the Democrat controlled Congress are even worse - in the low twenties.

Ever notice how whenever a member of the Democrat party gets caught doing something despicable, the Press is the first to come to the rescue with the phrase, "of course, both parties are guilty of this." Yet, when it is a Republican, not only does the story run with non-stop repetition, it is the singularly, most appalling abuse of the public trust ever committed by an American politician! They even go so far as to subtly omit the party identifier after the name of Democrat, but always identity a Republican. In fact when it is a Democrat member of the U.S House of Representatives that is disgraced, they will only use the abbreviation."Rep." after his name, knowing that many will incorrectly assume it stands for "Republican" rather than "Representative." The Press is masterful at such subtle public deception.

The other day a liberal friend tried to tell me that the Press was conservative because it was owned by big corporations. Well, of course there is nothing more evil on the face of this earth than a large corporation. So I asked him, how does that explain the Press's fawning backing of Barack Obama and their rabid hatred of conservative Sarah Palin?Furthermore why are these large corporations such fans of Unions, Marxism, Government Regulation, and high taxes? As of yet, I have received no response to my inquiries. Like most liberals, he is too busy moving onto his next round of unfounded attacks on some conservative leader somewhere.

Demonetization of the Right is the name of the game. I asked another friend who was busy bashing Bush, if Bush had been perceived as a well-spoken scholar, would my liberal friend all of a sudden be for a strong defense, a smaller government and against Socialized Medicine? Obviously, such was not the case. Therefore, the final result of such obvious bias, hypocrisy, and intellectual dishonesty, is that many Americans have just simply stopped listening to the mainstream press or giving any credence to their liberal arguments. It is like wrestling with a pig. No one wins, you both get dirty, and the pig loves it.
