Another reason I wanted to go with an automatic pool cleaner was that even with using chlorine and algaecide, I still find that there are some areas of the pool that never seem to quite get clean.
The Poolvergnuegen goes to areas I cannot get to with my manual cleaner. It pretty much does the entire pool by itself.
I checked out several online, and I talked to the people at the pool supply store where I get my chemicals. I was lead to the Poolvergnuegen PVN 2X Suction In-Ground Pool Cleaner. I found it at Best Pool Supply for $379.99
The first time I used the Poolvergnuegen I had to clean the pool manually. I was a little frustrated when I read that in the manual at first, but I understand. You have to give the cleaner a a clean pool to start with. I went ahead and shocked the pool also. The manual for the Poolvergnuegen recommends that too.
Once I waited a couple of days, I connected the hoses to the Poolvergnuegen, and got ready to clean. You have to purge all the water from the hoses, but that is pretty much standard with any pool vacuum system, manual or automatic.
You have to adjust the rpm on the wheels to get the Poolvergnuegen to climb the walls. I found out that anything under 8 rpm, and it won't. That was the whole idea behind me getting the Poolvergnuegen, so I adjusted it to 12. It does a pretty good job of climbing the walls at that setting.
With the pump on I let the Poolvergnuegen go through its paces. I was very pleased with how clean my pool is with this automatic system.
The Poolvergnuegen has self adjusting turbines, which gives it a pretty strong power at low suction. Another thing I like is the flexible vanes, so any larger debris, like twigs with leaves attached that end up on the bottom of the pool are able to pass through the cleaner easily.
I found that the suction is very strong and the Poolvergnuegen stays on its cleaning pattern, unlike some other automatic cleaners I have seen at friends houses. Since I got it, I have recommended it to several of my friends who have pools.
If you have a pool and are tired of the backbreaking work of cleaning your pool with the old style manual vacuums, get yourself a Poolvergnuegen. You will be glad you did.
