Poor Features that Are Holding the Clear Spot 4G Apollo Mobile Router Back
Disappointing Features of the Clear Spot 4G Apollo Mobile Router
The Clear Spot 4G Apollo is Clear's latest and most advanced mobile router and boasts being able to connect up to 8 Wi-Fi devices, has 6+ hours of battery life, and a new LCD display, but the Clear Spot 4G Apollo also has a few poor features.
It's Bulky
One of the first things that you're likely to notice about the new Clear Spot 4G Apollo mobile router is that it's relatively huge. When compared to the original Clear Sport 4G and other mobile hotspot devices on the market, the Clear Spot 4G Apollo is likely one of the largest mobile routers on the market. The Clear Spot 4G Apollo sports 3.4" x 3.4" x .7" dimensions and weighs 4.4 oz. - which isn't humongous by any means, but is a bit larger than its closest competitors.
No 3G
Usually when devices go by the name "4G" it's usually assumed that it supports both 3G and 4G wireless network technology, but that isn't the case with the new Clear Spot 4G Apollo. The Clear Spot 4G Apollo only supports 4G technology and doesn't take advantage of 3G wireless network technology. Most might wonder why 3G technology is important if the Clear Spot 4G Apollo supports the latest 4G technology, but if you live outside of a 4G network or are traveling out of 4G range, the Clear Spot 4G Apollo won't have 3G technology to fall back on.
No Wireless N Support
Not only does the Clear Spot 4G Apollo lack 3G support, but it also doesn't support the latest and fastest Wi-Fi technology, Wireless N. The Clear Spot 4G Apollo can support up to Wireless G speeds and even if you have the latest laptop, tablet, mobile gaming device, or eBook reader that supports Wireless N technology, you'll only be able to get Wireless G speeds on your modern gadgets.
Poor Range
If you were planning on using the Clear Spot 4G Apollo for home and mobile use; forget about it? The Clear Spot 4G Apollo might work will while on the road, but its short range limits its use within the home. The Clear Spot 4G Apollo only supports up to 150 feet of range for its connect Wi-Fi enabled devices and if you have multiple gadgets connected to the Clear Spot 4G Apollo at the same time, you'll have to make sure that both gadgets are within 150 feet from the Clear Spot 4G Apollo mobile router.
