The Pope is reported to have stated that the use of condoms may be okay in some cases. According to recent reports, the Pope said if a male prostitute is trying to avoid the spread of aids, condoms may be okay.

Is it possible that the Pope has stated that the use of condoms might be okay if a homosexual prostitute is using condoms? The Catholic Church actually condemns homosexual activity as well as prostitution. These issues apparently were not addressed in the Pope's opinion of when it is okay to use condoms.

Pope Benedict XVI has been criticized, as have other popes, for not giving permission for congregants to use condoms when they are trying to avoid pregnancy. To read more about the thoughts of Pope Benedict XVI on this matter view the information printed here.

Readers may recall that Pope Benedict XVI would not agree with the use of condoms by heterosexual couples in Africa in an effort to help prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS. While many disagree with what Pope Benedict XVI is saying, members of the church will often follow his direction.

The Pope has also been criticized for not taking action against pedophile priests in recent years. Some claim Pope Benedict XVI was aware of abuse and did nothing other than relocate priests that had been accused of sexually assaulting children.
