Or live to see old age,
You will live on in my heart, and in my mind.
If life is so short, then I shall not be far behind.
When I see you again it will be at the gate,
You were always one to wait.
Everyday you would call,
Even if you didn't have anything to discuss at all.
I miss those moments oh so bad
No one told me that was all the time we had.
If I had my way,
You would be here today.
You went away so soon,
On that May afternoon.
You left us all for a better place,
But now I will never see your face.
Addendum:
Twelve red roses we gave,
As pop was taken to the grave.
Our last gift, our last view, our last goodbye,
But truly not the final cry.
Today I think of you more then ever,
I don't think this feeling will go away, not never.
All have been left with words to say,
Thinking that you will hear them one day.
We miss you so much,
Your laugh, your stories, your voice and such.
I have come to the conclusion,
After months of confusion:
You will live forever, as long as you live in my heart,
It's not the same buy it's a start.

Touching for sure. My dad passed when I was a teenager so hit home with me also.
Wonderful poem. It really touched me because I could have wrote the same things about my Dad who passed away in March.
Touching words that I'm sure would warm your Pop-Pop's heart. He looks like a kind man.
