Poptropica is a free Flash-based game created by the Family Education Network designed for kids ages 6 to 15. Poptropica is a world of islands and each one has their own mysteries to solve. The islands offer problems that need to be fixed such as capturing criminals that have been endowed with superpowers from a meteorite. The game allows you to go across the islands by completing the tasks and overcoming the challenges. Poptropica is a progressive game and very entertaining for parents as well as the kids.
Poptropica comes with a feature that allows you to keep your place where you left off. This is something you will need to use to continue with the progression of this game. In the video game, Proptropica, you need to reach certain goals before some of the areas will open up and allow access to the player. It can be a lengthy process to win the object of the game, the gold medal.
You travel to the Poptropica islands by Blimp in this game. There are nine separate islands that make up Poptropica: Early Poptropica, Shark Tooth Island, Time Tangled Island, Carrot Island, Super Power Island, Spy Island, Nabooti Island, Big Nate Island, and Astro Knights Island.
When the age appropriate challenges of Poptropica are completed you are awarded cards that denote that achievement. Some cards can be activated and offer assistance in completing the other tasks that lay ahead. The younger kids can use adult assistance from time to time when it comes to some of tasksof Poptropica that are a bit hard to stump.
Parents can be re-assured that this virtual world adventure game, Poptropica, is safe and offers no violence or nothing that alludes to violence. There is no killing or fighting. No one gets hurt or taunted. Even the on screen names are pre-selected for assignment. If you lose your name and password for Poptropica there is no way to access it again. You will need to start over which can be frustrating if you have progressed far into the game. It is a good idea to write them down the user name and password. It can be educational, although it is geared more towards having fun thano a game of learning. Poptropica is an excellent source of eye, hand coordination that is an important skill to practice among this age group.

I'll have to show this website to my daughter. I bet she'd love it. Thanks for the info.
6-15yo? I think I'd like to play this! What a great way for kids to meet other kids around the world. Pen pals (with snail mail) have disappeared, but a more exciting world has opened up for our younger generation. I think it's so cool!
No kids.But it sounds fun.
Haven't heard of this one, but if there's no violence, I'm all for it!
