Popular Cartoon Shows and the Celebrity Voices Behind Them

Have you ever wondered who supplies the voices for some of the most widely watched cartoons geared towards adults such as King of the Hill or The Simpsons? You may be surprised to find that those who supply the voices for these shows are established actors and actresses.

Below I have included some popular cartoons geared towards adults and the celebrity voices behind them.

South Park- This raunchy sitcom revolves around the daily adventures of four school aged boys. These adventures are very outlandish and unpredictable.

Chef- The deep crooning cafeteria chef who so happens to be friends with the 4 boys was voiced by the late Isaac Hayes who was well known for his singing ability but also for his movie roles such as the 1981 film Escape From New York and 2000 film Reindeer Games.

King of the Hill- this television show centers around the Texan family, the Hills and their daily lives. There is much comedy throughout their every day life.

Peggy Hill- the caring mother and also substitute Spanish teacher who just so happens to speak Spanish horribly is voiced by Kathy Najimy. Kathy Najimy is best known for her role in the 1992 film Sister Act as Sister Mary Patrick and in the 1993 family film Hocus Pocus as Mary Sanderson. Kathy Najimy has multiple movies under her belt.

Luanne Platter- The emotionally sporadic niece of Peggy Hill is voiced by Brittany Murphy who is well known for her role as Tai Fraiser in the 1997 movie Clueless and as Alexandra "Alex" Latourno the girlfriend of the main character in the 2002 movie 8 Mile.

Bill- the lonesome exterminator and best friend of Hank Hill is voiced by Stephen Root. Stephen Root's name might not sound familiar by name but if you have ever seen the 1999 movie Office Space then you will most likely know who he is. Stephen Root played the mumbling employee of the office or the "staple guy" the character who gets overlooked despite his dedication to his job.

The Simpsons- Everyone loves the Simpsons! The Simpsons is an animated sitcom that revolves around the life of the Simpson family. The Simpsons is a parody that depicts American life in a cleverly comedic way.

Homer, Krusty, Groundskeeper Willie, Grandpa, Barney and more are all voiced by Dan Castellaneta who is best known for his recent role as Alan Frakesh in the 2006 movie the Pursuit of Happyness, and as Slick Moeller in the 1994 film The Client. Dan Castellaneta has multiple movies under his belt.

Moe, Apu, comic book guy, chief Wiggum, Carl, Cletus and more- are all voiced by Hank Azaria! Hank Azaria is best known for his role in the 1996 movie The Birdcage as Agador, as Victor "Animal" Palotti in the 1997 movie Godzilla and as Claude in the 2003 movie Along Came Polly. Hank Azaria has multiple movies under his belt as well.
