Here are a couple popular and fun options for girls bedding that will work in several different room designs and stay trendy for more than one year.
Stripes
Bold and colorful striped bedding is a great idea for girls because it gives them several options that they can change or add to year to year. I would seriously consider stripes if you are decorating a room for more than one girl, for example siblings that will be sharing a room and both need bedding. When decorating a room for twin girls, I found that striped bedding that came in several colors was the only thing the two could agree on because of color preferences and the tendency for one twin to have a different favorite color every month.
Easton Blue Reversible Striped quilts are available from Montgomery Wards, $59 for a twin quilt.
Large Florals
When decorating a girls room florals are an option that comes up and is readily available. This option works great when you look for large floral patterns that feature colorful and playful designs. Small floral patterns tend to be harder to decorate around and your daughter might outgrow the look faster than you want her to. Look for bedding with a single, dark field and a large floral patterns in more than one color, which gives you more decorating options.
Garden Delight Bedding in blue, yellow, pink, red and green is available from JCPenney, $50 for twin quilt.
Mismatched, Everything Goes
A popular new trend in girls bedding takes me back to my childhood and the fifty two piece mix and match wardrobe my friends and I all wore. Mismatched bedding in simple but fun designs are being snatched up by girls decorating their rooms for themselves. The bedding sets let you design your own bed with some of your favorite colors and graphics, and mix them all up. Big stripes, narrow stripes, hearts, dots, and solids are all available in three hundred and eighty four combinations from Little MissMatched at JCPenney, $100 for an entire bedroom set.
Patchwork Quilts
I am not suggesting the frumpy patchwork quilts you are used to seeing, instead look for a bright and simple patchwork quilt for girls. Try large, solid squares in several bold colors. This allows you to decorate the rest of the room in a large variety of colors and change out the rest of the bedding to suit your daughter. Try the Emma Patchwork Quilt from The Company Store, $140 twin quilt.

Gasp! Do you question my worthiness? My loveliness? My worldliness? Well, just to prove that I am the best commenter in the world, I post this second comment. This one is even more fantastic than the first and should be read aloud with a Russian accent.
This comment is fantastic!! Read it twice. Three times on Sunday. Extra credit if you say it out loud with a British accent.
