Popular Ebay Alternative Plunderhere Gets New Backing

Ebay Competitor Plunderhere Auctions and Ecommerce Becomes Part of Palgold

Plunderhere users were recently informed of an administrative change for the fledgling auction site this month as site owner "Mo" Lynette Jester announced that she had finalized negotiations to sell Plunderhere to Palgold Card Services LLC in a move that would benefit the site with a new dedicated server, stronger financial backing, and more resources for technical support. In this acquisition, "Mo" will retain a management and advisory position while the financial and technical aspects of running Plunderhere will be the responsibility of new ownership.

Coincidentally, an article on Plunderhere had appeared on popular Ecommerce rumor and tip site Auctionbytes. The simple article offered a glimpse of Plunderhere and invited users to check out the alternative to Ebay. This was two days before Ms. Jester announced the acquisition of Plunderhere by Palgold. The rumor of Plunderhere's change of ownership was actually taken into question after the release of this article on the website The Crabby Host Forum, where users debated Plunderhere's ownership and future until the auction site's official announcement on April 8, 2008.

Site ownership changes are not new to Plunderhere. The original creator of the site, Suzanne Kenney sold Plunderhere to Jester in May of 2007, which was finalized in June of that same year. With the changes, the ecommerce site enjoyed an infusion of new ideals, dedicated moderators filling the ranks, and a new owner with a blunt, shoots-from-the-hip mentality. To some users, site owner Mo and her "skillet", a term used to describe her manner of dealing with administrative issues, were too abrasive for the site's future growth. To others, Mo's consistent honesty and to-the-point manner of dealing with people was a refreshing change from distant admins on other sites. Regardless, rumors have recently circulated that Plunderhere, despite the best efforts of its owner, held a slightly unprofessional feel, one that the new ownership has the potential of correcting.

Plunderhere has much to offer future ecommerce entrepreneurs, and its base of devotees has grown phenomenally in the past few months since Ebay's unpopular policy and fee changes. It is a definite potential contender in the ecommerce arena, one that will continue to adapt to the ever-changing market, backed by its dedicated sellers. Of all the potential Ebay Alternatives, Plunderhere is one to definitely investigate. Server migration should be completed in time for Summer.

There have been a lot of good new sites lately that have real buyers besides ebay, such as Amazon.com, Upperbid.com, and Ioffer.com.

I sell a nice quantity of items on all three of these sites.
