Over the past seven or so years I have really gotten into reading about Ghosts, and Mediums and Psychics like Sylvia Brown. I think the reason for this, is that I am so worried and curious about what really happens when we die. Are ghosts real, and are they lonely spirits who can't find their way to heaven? Do they not realize they are dead? Do we go to heaven or hell or is there just..nothing? It is really a scary thought.
Besides reading books and watching documentaries on the subject, I also enjoy visiting Paranormal websites. The following are some of my most favorite places to visit and read.
The Shadowlands. This website has got to be the best out there as far as Paranormal information goes. The Shadowlands has everything you could possibly want. From Bigfoot to Angels, this website has it all. They even have a Ghost Hunters Store. My favorite part of the websites is The Ghost And Hauntings section. They have it broken down so that you can view pictures, video footage, listen to evps, read about famous hauntings or even see what places are listed as being haunted in your own state or country. There are also links to local Ghost Hunters in your area.
The Asylum. This website has a number of different webcams set up in various locations. It was a bit hard for me to navigate the site as there are several different locations and often times I forget when I am watching them that not all the cams are in the same house. Sometimes I still get confused on what forum to post in. The cams in the Asylum are two stair cams, a living room cam and a night vision cam that I believe is in a closet. Other cams that are not in the Asylum house, are the haunted farm cams, the house of Chambers and two others I am not sure about. I love watching the cams but often don't have time to sit and watch enough to actually see anything. There certainly are a huge amount of people on there that think they see things though and do what is called "capping". Each webcam is set up so that if you think you see something you can click the "cap it" button and it will save the picture for you to post in the forums for everyone to dissect it and deliver their opinions. For the most part, what people are capping are all pixels from the cameras. However, there are some questionable ones that are pretty neat.
The Queen Mary. This website not only talks about booking a stay on the Ship and it's history, but also has a great live webcam. Despite some moving pixels, it is pretty clear and almost live streaming. It seems to update every few seconds. One has to remember when watching this cam, especially at night, that it IS a hotel and there are real people walking around checking the place out. The cam itself is located in the pool area and nightly tours bring lots of guests into that area every evening. So it might not be a spirit you see, but an actually person.
My new favorite that I just discovered yesterday, is the NCPR. Northern California Paranormal Researchers. Since I am currently living in Northern California, it interests me to read about their current and past investigations and view the pictures. It turns out that my husband works with one of the people that runs the site in his spare time.
Another great one from California is TCPS. The California Paranormal Society. There is a message board and a section to apply to be an investigator. The site is full of really cool pictures and Evp files.
When it comes to the Paranormal and Ghost hunting information, the Internet is filled with great sites. Not only can you find tips on Ghost Hunting, but you can also buy most , if not all of the equipment that Paranormal Experts use in their quests for information and evidence.
The Ghost Hunters Store at the Shadowlands websites is a great resource. I plan on getting myself a few items from there, including a digital camera for Christmas. The store has everything from cameras to books to DVDs to Evp equipment. It's really neat.
