One can find many free MMO titles on social networks by game developers such as Playdom and Zynga. Playdom is the creator of Mobsters, City of Wonder and of course the World Series of Poker. Zynga developed Mafia Wars, Farmville, and Frontierville. Of course, a player can find these MMO games elsewhere on the Internet and some of the biggest titles out there currently are World of Warcraft, Evony and Mabinogi.
These MMO games cover every genre of games from war, gang, farming, and even mundane things such as feeding fish or cooking items. These games are very social, and by design, the game play needs multiple gamers to propel the singular player through the levels. One of the best things about these games is they are not gory so people of any age can enjoy them.
Farmville, which is a MMO game, is a great example of a game people of all ages can enjoy. In this farming simulation game, gamers create farms complete with crops, trees, tractors and many of the things one can find on a working farm. There are all kinds of farm animals which are not only animated they also make sounds of the real farm animals. For instance, the cows moo, the pigs squeal and the chickens scratch the ground as they do on a real farm.
The Playdom and Zynga games can be found on Facebook or Myspace, which allows the player to 'recruit' family and friends to play the game. Adding these people as allies or neighbors in the free MMO games allows the individual player to gain the experience to complete the tasks to rise through the levels of the game easier.
All of these MMO games allow a gamer to 'get lost' in a virtual world where they can become a character very much unlike themselves. One can become a vampire, mafia boss of fashion designer. It is very much an escape from reality and a great way to de-stress from the stuff life tosses at us.
