Tasty Indian Vegetarian Entrees to Enjoy!

Indian cuisine offers a wide variety of vegetarian dishes, making it a popular cuisine of choice for people who choose to eat a vegetarian diet. According to The Hindu-CNN-IBN State of the Nation Survey, 31% of people and 21% of families in India are vegetarian, so it's not surprising that Indian cuisine is filled with vegetarian options. These are some of the most popular vegetarian Indian dishes that are favorites of people in India and throughout the world.

Aloo Gobi Masala - Aloo Ghobi Masala is one of the most popular vegetarian Indian dishes. It's main ingredients are potatoes and califlower. They are cooked in a variety of spices, like cumin seeds and paste, coriander paste and leaves, green chillis, and turmeric powder.

Aloo Palak - Aloo Palak is another popular Indian vegetarian potato dish. In this dish, however, the potatoes are accompanied by spinach. Cumin seeds and green chillis are used to spice this vegetarian Indian meal.
Chana Masala - Chana Masala is a popular vegetarian Indian dish consisting of chickpeas that have been cooked in a variety of exotic spices often including turmeric powder, bay leaves, ginger, coriandar powder, green chilli, red chilli powder, and garam masala powder.

Mattar Paneer - Mattar Paneer is a tasty vegetarian Indian dish that combines paneer, soft Indian cottage cheese, with green peas. The sauce of this dish is a curry with garam masala powder, ginger paste, turmeric powder, and garlic paste.

Navratan Korma - Navratan Korma is an incredibly flavorful vegetarian Indian dish filled with a variety of vegetables and spices, often including potatoes, cauliflower, green peas, carrots, and french beans, as well as red chilli, turmeric, coriander, and gaam masala powders and garlic and ginger pastes. Rasins and cashew nuts are also often included in this delicious, popular Indian vegetarian entree.

Vegetable Biryani - Yet another popular vegetarian Indian dish is Vegetable Biryani. This dish consists of Basmati rice, a variety of vegetables, often including potatoes, cauliflower, french beans, and carrots, and aromatic spices like cinnamon and cloves. Rasins and cashew nuts are also often included in this popular Indian vegetarian entree.
