The use of pornography has grown by the millions over the past decade. Pornography users are not the stereotyped middle age single bachelor anymore. As a matter of fact many teens, married men and woman, and even adults over fifty are lured into the seductive hook of pornography. Pornography has become much more than the erotic magazines that come In through the mail. Now a days, pornography comes in many forms including instant access the billions of on line videos straight from the home computer.

Pornography can creep up in any household and from a variety of users. One wife may be shocked and devastated to find a collection of pornography in the home from her husband, while another husband doesn't know his own wife has an addiction to soft pornography introduced through romance novels but soon spinning out into material only found in an "adult" section. A parent of a teenage boy or girl may find pornographic images on the computer to linking to a number of free sites which anybody can view hundreds of pornographic moves from their own computer.

As a matter of fact, the computer has enabled pornography use to sky rocket! In order to watch pornographic movies, a person would have to of gone into an adult store, or gone into a back room of a video rental store. Both would require the person purchasing or renting the pornographic material show identification to be sure they are "of age". This process may have differed many adults simply because purchasing the pornography felt shameful or embarrassing. Today, pornography can be viewed from the home computer, or even purchased at home through pay per view services. On line uses of any age simply have a wide variety of pornographic sites to chose from, including interactive sites.

Pornography is destructive to families and to a person in general. One may become addicted without warning, and the addiction is harder to break than most narcotic addictions. Pornography can create a tension in the home that can lead to divorce, adultery, and even criminal actions such as abuse or rape. When pornography hits innocent children's and teen eyes, promiscuity, teen pregnancy, and a shattered view of intimacy is placed with in them.

The statics for pornography are alarming! According to familysafemedia.com, $3,075.64 is being spent on pornography EVERY SECOND! As well as 28,258 Internet users are viewing pornography every second! 372 Internet users are typing adult search terms into search engines - again - every second! And every 39 minutes a NEW pornographic video is being created in the United States! A leading search phrase is disgustfully enough "teen sex" which is searched out more than 1 in 4 searches with a total of 2.10 MILLION pages displaying containing the phrase "teen sex" Believe it or not, that pornographic phrase is searched by more woman than men (56% woman) Of both men and woman who use that particular search phrase for Internet pornography, 22% are under the age of 18! Which is also disturbingly the same amount of seekers between the ages of 35 and 49!

Pornography is infesting the minds, eyes, and home computers of today. It is growing like a wife fire and needs to be stopped. Parents, please monitor your children's computers, and also take a look at what you have in the home. Pray about it and let God heal your family of the sexual disease of pornography. If a wife suspects pornographic items are in the home, go to your prayer closet, as it is more effective than confronting your husband. God can heal you home, just trust him to set your family free from pornography and pornographic images and items. Also know that the temptation is not a sin, as even Jesus was tempted, but when you act out in the temptation and try to quench it's lustful desires, sin in present.

    It is true that porn is harmful.

    People should go outside and exercise, talk to each other, or read good books. The fact of the matter is that millions of people are negatively effected, mentally and physically, by this thing whose etymology is "writing about prostitutes." Porn hurts and degrades both men and women.

    Your article is not persuasive. You do not back up your statistics or demonstrate in any way other than scripture how pornography harms people. You are assuming that viewing explicit photographs causes an 'addiction,' and that all of your readers will take this for granted. You are also assuming that husbands and wives are not looking at porn together for mutual gratification, and that some how being accidentally exposed to pornography would cause teen pregnancy?

    This article will only attract those of your world view. If you intend to convince anyone else, you should try a more persuasive style.

    So many people still think internet porn is harmless. Their heads are in the sand. Thanks for this. I just wrote on it too, and am working on a Part 2.
