The Panamera, which made its debut at the 13th Auto Shanghai in 2009, combines the sleek features and performance of a sports car with a high standard of luxury and comfort. It is roomy enough for four passengers and has ample luggage space, while still maintaining the classic recognizable design of a Porsche. All four seats have tapered back rests and integrated hear restraints, and there is an optional four-zone climate control system. For the first time, Porsche will offer a new, ultra high-end surround sound system, as well as the latest electronic features such as Bluetooth, Universal Audio Interface, and satellite radio.
The Panamera S and the all-wheel-drive Panamera 4S both have a 4.8-liter V8 engine and can reach up to 175mph. The Panamera S starts at $89,800 with 400 horsepower and the AWD 4S starts at $93,800, with 405 horsepower. The all-wheel-drive Panamera Turbo features a twin-turbocharged 4.8-liter V8 engine with 500 horsepower. It can sprint from zero to 60 mph in 4 seconds flat, reaches a top speed of 188 mph, and starts at $132,600. Its makers also praise the fuel-efficiency of the vehicle.
With the 2010 Panamera, Porsche has successfully created an unparalleled 4-door luxury sport sedan. Porsches are generally secondary vehicles in most households, but the Panamera has broken into a whole new market that could effectively make it a primary vehicle. Stylish, innovative, and unique, the Porsche Panamera has definitely raised the bar.
