Portable Beauty Gadgets: What a Girl Needs to Look Her Best

WJ
Many magazine articles on women's beauty, give advice on creams, lotions, makeup, etc. There are fewer on the gadgets that can improve our daily beauty regimine. Here are a few of my favorites, including where they can be found, and what features to look for.

Electric razor...Even though some people may say the only difference between a men's and a woman's razor is the color, there is a difference. Women's razors are smaller and more agile. This translates to less accidental scratches or nicks. For those prone to razor bumps, you can say goodbye to them as well. They include different sizes of attachments as well as a carrying case. Always buy rechargeable so it can be taken anywhere for quick touch ups. (Your can of shaving cream can now be tossed in the trash). Go to Target for a good deal: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_39/602-7448563-8645459?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B000KYR9EG

Rechargeable toothbrush...This is a powerful tool for keeping the plaque build up that causes cavities, away. The charger is small and the cord folds into the base easily for storage. The brush heads cost a small amount to replace and lasts for about three months. They are so commonplace that some are found in the grocery store.

Ceramic straightening iron...I use this when I want to have a straight look instead of chemically altering my natural hair. It is the most impressive gadget on the list and definitely worth the price. The can cost between $85 dollars, (if you buy it through your stylist at the salon) to about $120 retail or online. Some sellers include extras like thermal carrying cases and styling spritz. This is a site I trust: http://www.folica.com/CHI_Ceramic_Fla_d2457.html

Portable hairdryer...This is good for more than styling hair. I can dry nail polish, or spot dry clothing that has been stained and cleaned as well. For about $20, it is small, has a high and low setting, folds up into the pouch easily, and is powerful. I found mine here: http://brookstone.com/store/product.asp?product_code=535880&search_type=search&search_words=hair%20dryer&prodtemp=t1&cm_re=Result*R2C1*A

Ionic Hairbrush...Whether it's seasonal pollen or smoke from a night out, this is a good way to freshen up dull hair. It comes with two brush attachments, and uses a 9 volt battery. This handy item can be found inside both Sharper Image and Brookstone stores, but can be harder to find at the online sites.

Lint de-fuzzer...Good grooming is important for your clothes as well as your body. This little gadget that can be found in the laundry department at any store like Kmart, WalMart, or Target along with the clothes hangers, takes one or two AA batteries. They normally don't cost more than eight dollars each.

I will admit that most of the items listed, involve hair. As a woman, I spend a good amount of time shaving, cleaning, drying, and just managing hair, the best I can. But what person does not need to manage hair, after all? Also, most of these items do stay in the same bathroom drawer for easy access; but do not remain in the drawer. When I pack for a trip, they all go with me. After all, I take pride taking care of myself, and I love gadgets. So it just makes sense.
