Portishead Returns After 10 Years
Ethereal, edging on jazz, English trip-hop group, Portishead emerges from a 10 year hiatus with a third album. The music scribe from Pitchfork, Stephen Trousse aptly labels the latest record by Portishead as a "record that couldn't be possibly played at a dinner party".

Despite their long absence eager, Portishead fans can rest assured the new Portishead album "Third" according to Stephen Trousse is a "triumph, genuinely invigorated with reinvention and fresh purpose". Portishead's Geoff Barrow and Adrian Utley in a relaxed, freewheeling feature interview with Pitchfork recall their unexpected success and burnout surrounding their debut album "Dummy" with an interesting account of the inspiration behind producing "Third" the kind of "record they wanted to hear".

Portishead Like No Other
I remember when "Dummy" came out in the 1990s. I could not get enough of this CD. It was one of those mesmerizing CDs that could be played over and over again. It would be soothing and mesmerizing. Every listening continued to have interesting layered nuances. The buzz around Portishead's highly anticipated "Third" album is that the band has continued to follow its own muse, taking its time to create Third, an album that is unmistakably Portishead, beyond compare.

Portishead's Third CD To Be Released April 28th
11 tracks have been recorded for the third Portishead album. If you're a diehard Portishead fan and can't wait for the official release date, you can hear the first track "Machine Gun". If this track is anything like the rest of the album, expect more industrial and edgy than pop-infused. Think Moby without airplay. A limited edition box set is available for £40.00. It features the album, films and an etched 12" vinyl of "Machine Gun"
