Portland, Oregon is in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. Miles of lush, green forests surround this city, with epic mountain ranges rising from the fog and tranquil rivers nearby. Golf amongst these conditions in suitably pristine and Portland, Oregon offers many excellent greens for amateurs and pros alike to hit a ball around on. Check out these courses the next time you are in this swell Pacific Northwest metropolis.

Broadmoor, a former farm, has some really interesting water features and water hazards. While these aren't the elegant fountain arrangements found at some other courses, it's the canal area that really adds to this course. It's got an almost English in feel, thanks to this Columbia slough. They currently have a $15 special for 18 holes!

Heron Lakes is one of the finer golf courses in Portland, Oregon. It is also one of the more expensive ones, with games costing up to $42 for 18 holes on weekends ($27 on Monday's and Tuesdays), be sure to check their website for updated prices. It has been highly rated by both Golf Digest and Golf World. The courses costs of two 18 holes sets, for a total of 36 holes, one called the Greenback and the other titled the Great Blue Course. True to its namesake, Heron Lakes has many water features, sure to interest fisherman and golfers alike (although it is doubtful that they would allow fishing on their course). Heron Lakes is in NorthWest Portland, near the Smith and Bybee Lakes region of the city.

Boasting 18 holes, and a close proximity to PDX, Columbia National Club is one of the easier courses to access in Portland. Currently, they are offering a pretty swell $22 deal for 18 holes in September, be sure to check their website for updates deals and rates. Like Broadmoor, it is somewhat near the Columbia River slough, adding an interesting variety to the water hazards and scenery in the area.
