Portland's Best Hunting and Fishing Store: Fishermen's Marine Supply
A Large, Localized Inventory is One of a Kind in Portland
Fishermen's Marine Supply has locations in Jantzen Beach and Oregon City, and represents a local competitor in the outdoor supply industry. Both Wholesale Sports and Dick's Sporting Goods have stores in the Portland Metro area, and these large chains do their best to localize their inventory. However, neither of them can match Fishermen's for its local ownership and shelves stocked with products that outdoorsmen and women of the northwest demand. True to their name, the two Fishermen's Marine Supply locations carry extensive inventory of both accessories and parts for boats, as well as just about any type of fishing gear you can imagine. Additionally, the stores have a large gun section, as well as hunting and camping supplies.
Fishermen's does an excellent job of having knowledgeable staff on hand to answer all your outdoors questions. Most of the employees that work in the departments share their customers' passion for fishing and hunting, and are willing and open to sharing tips and information about products. Over the years, Fishermen's Marine Supply has proactively participated in not just the battle to protect the Northwest's valuable natural resources, but also to help fight for sport anglers' rights. During peak fishing and hunting times, the store also offers seminars put on by successful local guides and fishing experts.
If you visit Fishermen's today, just as you might notice in other retailers, there are empty spaces on shelves scattered around the store. It is somewhat clear that store management is having to make some decisions on which inventory they purchase. However, the advantage of having employees and owners that live, fish and hunt in the area is they continue to have a good idea of the most important things to have in stock at any given time of the year. Still, the store needs the help of as many loyal customers as possible. Already the Portland area has had to say goodbye to some great local outdoor stores (Joes, formerly GI Joes), and the fishing and hunting community cannot afford to lose Fishermen's Marine Supply as a place to buy gear. Visit www.fishermens-marine.com for store locations, weekly advertisements and hours. Make sure to stop in and check out their friendly staff, and inventory suited to the great Pacific Northwest.
