It seems that these days people are getting together all over the world to discuss environmental issues. Portland has long been a hot-bed of such discussion as well as implementation of environmental policies. The upcoming Green Day Forum 2009 looks to continue this tradition as it relates to the building, design and real estate industries.

This year's Green Day Forum will feature Bill Bradbury, former Oregon Secretary of State, as the keynote speaker, as well as Milos Jovanovic speaking about his Passive House design, as featured in Dwell magazine. According to the Green Day Forum website the event is limited to only 100 participants and is expected to be sold out for a second straight year. At this time registration is still available on their website.

The event will run from December 4th-6th at the Earth Advantage National Center, 16280 SW Upper Boones Ferry Road in Portland. Professionals from the building, design and real estate sectors are encouraged to attend, as well as students, educators and policy makers with a strong interest. According to the PSU EcoWiki the event will include topics such as Smart Meter technology, stimulus funding and energy retrofits and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
