Poser Holiday 2007 Giveaways

This is one of the busiest times of year for those that create Poser content, because loved ones are purchasing content for their Poser addicts, and Poser addicts are buying themselves those things that they've been avoiding purchasing all year long. Another cool thing though about the month of December is that many vendors give away quality free Poser content in the form of textures for clothing, hair props, models and much more. All you have to do is know where the free content is and then you're just a click away from having a new Poser goodie to use in your artwork.

Here are the places that are offering free Poser content gifts for the holidays:

1. Addicted-Souls Advent Calendar. This cute calendar lets you download a new Poser freebie every day until December 24^th! There is some very high quality stuff here, clothing for Aiko, characters for Victoria 4, and even new models. It is well worth checking out each day just to see what will be there. So be sure and visit the Addicted Souls Advent Calendar today! Oh, and if you miss a day, no worries, you can go backwards in the calendar and download gifts from previous days, just not forwards.

2. Fantasies Unleashed Advent Calendar. Some of the gifts on the Fantasies Unleashed Advent Calendar are the same as the ones on the Addicted-Souls Advent Calendar, but not all of them are so it is still a good idea to check daily. So far I have only found one duplicate between the two calendars. This one has a set of winter backgrounds, a Victoria 4 character complete with make-ups, and Photoshop snowflake brushes. The cool thing about the last one is that in case you don't have Photoshop or a program that will open Photoshop files, they also provide the png files so you can use them in other applications. You'll want to check out the Fantasies Unleashed Advent Calendar.

3. Out of Touch is giving something away every day from December 1-December 24^th this year. The first gift they offer is a very nice hair prop for Victoria 3, then the next day is a really cute santa hat, textures for the hat, and then textures for the hair prop. I can't wait to see what the rest of the days have to offer as like many Poser artists I prefer Victoria 3 to Victoria 4 so being able to get additional freebies for her is a big plus in my opinion. This is one of my favorite websites to visit, so be sure and take a trip to Out of Touch so you can cash in on the great freebies!

4. Renderosity 7^th Annual Vendor Holiday Giveaway. Okay I admit it, this is my absolute favorite website to visit during the month of December because Renderosity has so many wonderful vendors, and they donate a whole host of goodies each week in the month of December. Week 1 has 39 freebies alone! That's a lot of freebies, but then Renderosity and the vendors who sell there have always been known to be generous around this time of year. Don't worry if you miss out on a week, each week is available for the duration of the giveaway. Some examples of the items available for download are cloth merchant resource packages to help with texturing, textures for clothing, backgrounds, and characters to name just a few. If you visit none of the other giveaway websites listed here, then visit the Renderosity 7^th Annual Vendor Holiday Giveaway, you'll be sorry if you don't!

5. Addicted2Daz Anniversary Gifts Calendar 2007. This is a group of artists on MSN who are giving away Poser items. I was less impressed with this giveaway, only because most of the items are for products that are not that commonly owned by Poser users. Also most of them are textures for these products. Still it is worth taking a look, who knows you might discover that you have one of the products that they have a texture for! Visit Addicted2Daz if this sounds like some place you want to at least take a look.

6. CG Odyssey Countdown to a New Year. This is a forum where some Poser artists are giving away some nice Poser freebies. While I was not able to download all of them due to the fact that I did not have some of the items they were giving away textures for, there is still enough nice stuff here to visit. I especially liked the dark elf character for Aiko 3. Being a fan of Drow elves this was an especially appreciated giveaway. Make sure you take a gander at CG Odyssey Countdown to a New Year this year.

7. Nouschka Design Shop is giving away a complete old German farmhouse, and it is something to behold. You have to visit every day and download each piece of the farmhouse, but it is a really nice set up and I encourage everyone to take advantage of this giveaway. The props are very detailed and I can see many a cool render with this one. I have been a fan of Nouschka's for a few years now and I can attest to the quality of the stuff they give away at the holidays, so you don't want to miss visiting the Nouschka Design Shop Advent Calendar. Oh, and if you miss a day no worries, you can go backwards, just not forwards!

8. Digital Designs Unlimited is also having a holiday giveaway. The downside to this one is that once the day has passed, the freebie is gone and you cannot go back and download freebies you missed. So make sure you visit Digital Designs Unlimited right away and every day from here on out until December 24^th, otherwise you'll miss out.

9. Poser Pros has an advent calendar for members, but like Digital Designs Unlimited if you don't get the freebie the day it comes available then you lose out. Still membership is free, and they do have some nice giveaway items. Today's freebie was a complete Menorah prop. Visiting the Poser Pros Advent Calendar is worth it as long as you check every day!

As you can see, there is a veritable banquet of Poser freebies at these holiday giveaways. It is one of the reasons that Christmas is my favorite time of year!
