No matter what your goal, you will get there faster and have longer lasting results, if you practice positive self talk. It's easy to lapse into negativity when you're having a bad day, but it will only make things worse. Instead of beating yourself up, you should prop yourself up. Learn positive self talk techniques and you can't go wrong. Through positive self talk, you will feel better about yourself, make better decisions, and reduce your stress level. The following techniques are just a few that will help. Once you began talking positively to yourself you will implement it into every part of your life.
1. Never tell yourself that you can't. Instead say "I can do this, I will find a way."
2. Don't call yourself fat. Instead say "I am beautiful the way I am, but I will strive to lose weight to improve my health.
3. Never call yourself ugly. Instead say "I am unique and beautiful in my own way. No one is the same, and I have my own alluring qualities.
4. Never call yourself stupid when you make a bad decision. Instead say "I made a mistake, but I will learn from it. Mistakes only make us grow as a person.
5. Never tell yourself that you aren't good enough. Instead say "I am as good as anyone else. I am a wonderful, loving, intelligent person that makes a difference.
Another technique you can employ in your quest for living positively is to make a list of the things you like best about yourself. Include physical attributes, sensibilities, job skills, and qualities you like most about yourself. You should come up with at least ten positives about yourself. If you can come up with more to start with you are doing really well. As you get better at looking at yourself positively you will add even more.
If you learn to always offer yourself positive reinforcement you will succeed in all of you endeavors. You are the person who makes the biggest difference in your own life. Be your own cheerleader, and cheer yourself on to victory!
