Possible New Role for Keanu Reeves
For some Americans, Cowboy Bebop may be the first anime series known to them seeing as it aired on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming way back in 1998. Aside from that, the anime series has also branched off into two different manga series, and a full-length anime movie. The series itself is based around Spike, a space bounty hunter, which is the character that Keanu Reeves hopes to play.
Interestingly enough, this isn't the first time that Keanu Reeves has been interested in the anime genre of animation. Remember the spin-off of The Matrix titled The Ani-Matrix? Yep, that was anime, and Keanu Reeves lent some voice acting skills into dubbing a particular segment in the collection of anime themed videos farther detailing The Matrix.
Perhaps on another interesting note, Keanu Reeves his himself an anime fan, and wishes to do his best in keeping the film true to the Cowboy Bebop storyline. Anime fans may not be so happy about this news till we can learn more on the matter, as various anime have been recently turned into live action films such as Dragon Ball Z. Only time will tell as to if this will work out for Keanu.

Although Keanu's recent performance in the remake of The Day The Earth Stood Still was a bit wooden, overall I think he's a highly underrated actor who, like Will Smith, will get one big break and become one of Hollywood's "go-to" guys.

I think Keanu would be perfect for the role of Spike. Keanu already has an air of being not quite human, (as in he is distant & hard to relate to in his roles - sometimes not always) what better for an anime charcter?
Ya, I think he's a great actor who seems down to Earth but a good number of people around me argue that he's one of the worst actors out there. :P
Keanu seems willing to push the envelope and genuinely appears to have fun making movies, although he has his share of critics.
