Potential Health Complications Associated with Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity

Jane Benitez
Research has indicated that there are many potential health complications associated with electromagnetic hypersensitivity. Technological advancements have drastically increased the amount of objects and products that emit an electromagnetic field. Many refer to the electromagnetic field as "EMF". Each and every single day, we are subjected to sources that emit an electromagnetic current. Popular sources of the EMF field include items like computers, cell phones, and various other items that emit a current or force. Electrical devices and products possess an aura that consists of invisible force or current lines - these consist of magnetic fields as well as electrical fields. To date, several medical professionals have encountered individuals that seem to have a form of hypersensitivity or are "super" sensitive to the electrical force and the magnetic force surrounding devices that are electrical based. Many believe many potential health complications occur as a natural result of this hypersensitivity.

How Are Electromagnetic Forces Created?

In order to understand the concept of electromagnetic hypersensitivity, it is important to understand how electromagnetic forces are created. When electricity voltage is produced within a particular product or device, over time, that voltage increases. As a result of this, electric fields are created. As a current of electricity increases, magnetic fields are created. The measure of the magnetism is a direct response of the strength that is produced by the electrical field. Generally, items that are powered on that depend on electricity produce an electromagnetic field. However, it is important to know and understand that not all devices must be powered on to produce this force field. If the device has a direct link to a power source, small bursts of electromagnetic force will occur. Scientists often refer to this as "Transients". In recent years, scientists that have studied this occurrence to determine electricity consumption has introduced these short bursts to the public as "Phantom Power" and the phrase "Vampire Energy" has even been used.

The Symptoms of Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity

The symptoms of electromagnetic hypersensitivity in an individual that may experience potential health complication typically varies from one individual to another. The "World Health Organization" or "WHO" has conducted studies on many individuals that are believed to suffer from EHS. This organization has concluded that while this issue is a health condition that one may suffer from, the symptoms associated with it are not directly related to any other known medical syndrome. This is basically because of the fact that the symptoms are considered to be "non-specific". These symptoms may include one or more of the following for the individual that suffers from electromagnetic hypersensitivity:

• Conditions that affect the skin are often experienced by the EHS sufferer. Many sufferers have experienced redness on their skin. There are others that have felt tingling in various locations and even sensations that they describe as "burning".

• Many individuals may become extremely tired when they are subjected to electromagnetic force fields. This is considered to be a neurasthenic symptom. It may also be accompanied by unexplained pain throughout the body and high levels of anxiety.

• Many individuals who have suffered as a direct result of hypersensitivity to the electromagnetic field have experienced dizziness, and nausea. In some cases, these individuals also experienced vomiting.

• Gastrointestinal complications are common with the EHS sufferer. These digestive disturbances may include irritable bowel syndrome, cramping, constipation, and even diarrhea.

• Many that are affected by EHS have suffered from mental and cognitive disturbances such as the inability to concentrate and focus, emotional upset, the inability to remember appropriately, and even the feeling that they are being watched or are not alone. These symptoms are often made apparent in television shows such as "Ghost Hunters", "A Haunting", and "Ghost Adventures". The investigators on these shows implement the use of an Electromagnetic Meter or "EMF" in order to determine how high or low a force field is. Many have discovered that their "haunting" were nothing more than a sensitivity to electric devices, products, and currents that were relatively strong in a particular area of their home and/or business.

Conclusion

If you feel as if your symptoms may be a direct result of electromagnetic hypersensitivity, it is important to learn as much as you can regarding the condition. Physicians that work to treat the condition will often provide treatments that focus on eliminating the symptoms associated with the condition rather than the health condition as a whole or on eliminating exposure to the force fields that result in the uncomfortable symptoms.
