Potholes on Sunnyvale Streets

Potholes in Sunnyvale are not uncommon. With the budget cuts this year, city services will be stretched trying to keep up with seasonal road repair. Potholes and rutted streets can be nothing more than a small irritant or something that can cause severe damage, including increased dangerous driving situations.

We just had our first good rainstorm of the year. Rain is one of the elements that erodes road surfaces. It also can disguise existing potholes as they fill with water. A few months ago the roadway between Homestead and Stevens Creek on Blaney had several deep potholes. This is a regular surface street commute route and potholes such as these are especially dangerous to cyclists and motor cycles. With fewer city resources, it is important for us to report these road hazards to city crews. If you discover a pothole, call the city and report it.
