Powdered Sugar Cookies

The Taste of Sugar Cookies with Out All the Fuss

Kumu
When I was a kid my mom loved baking cookies, but we only got sugar cookies once a year when she would do her holiday baking. Let's face it, sugar cookies are not easy cookies that you just stir up and bake in a hour or so. This recipe for sugar cookies is different, no fuss, no muss! No rolling out or cutting with cookie cutters, just roll them into balls and they are ready to go! Since they are made with powdered sugar they really melt in your mouth!

Powdered Sugar Cookies

1 c. margarine or butter

1 c. shortening

2 c. powdered sugar

2 eggs

1/2 tsp. salt

1 tsp. soda

2 tsp. vanilla

4 c. flour

In a medium mixing bowl place the margarine, shortening, powdered sugar and eggs, cream together well.

Add vanilla and then measure the flour and add the rest of the dry ingredients to it. Slowly add it to the creamed mixture and mix well.

Roll into 1 inch balls and place on cookie sheet. Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.

These cookies are great the way they are but you can also frost them for a special added treat!
