Power of Positive Thinking

Heidi Adams
The power of positive thinking can work wonders in your life. Someone once said that 10% of life is what happens to you, and 90% the way you react to it. As humans we have the ability to use our minds to solve problems, act on our own free will, and to make decisions based on reasoning and intuition. Two different people will often react very differently to the same problem. Some of us are born pessimistic, but we have the ability to change. Few of us are born as positive thinkers. It is a fact that optimistic people tend to live longer lives. They tend to be healthier and less stressed. The power of positive thinking can be a life altering experience. If you were to wake up in the morning knowing you could not fail at anything you attempted to do, what would you do? Simply living by that motto can change your life and your perspective on stressful situations, making them easier to overcome. Each challenge should be viewed as an opportunity to grow and learn not to make the same mistakes. Making new mistakes is much better than repeating the same mistakes you have made before.

The risks that I regret the most are the ones that I didn't take. If I could turn back the hands of time ten years and tell my former self to live every day to the fullest and do exactly what I wanted to do...I would be more satisfied knowing that I at least attempted to do those things, even if I failed. If we live in fear of failure our entire lives, we end up wasting the few good years that we have. Mediocrity is not an attribute, it is a hindrance. Every successful person has overcome trials, failures...but through it all they have prevailed. Waking up each day and seeing the opportunities it presents is a true blessing. The past is the past. The future is the future. The present is here and now. We only live one day at a time. Set your mind to positive thinking. Visualize the lessons in your hardships and find the blessing in them. In my opinion, "Without rain...there woud be no rainbow". - Heidi Adams.

Here are a few inspirational quotes on positive thinking.

"Optimism is a cheerful frame of mind that enables a tea kettle to sing though it's in hot water up to its nose."
---Unknown

"Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start now and make a brand new ending."
---Carl Bard
