Powerball Numbers Now Worth Over $200M

Robert Dougherty
Powerball numbers have been more elusive than ever these last few months. All the Powerball numbers haven't been hit in a long time, as Powerball numbers become more and more tempting. Powerball players in Florida, Pennsylvania, Delaware and 27 other states are scrambling to get the right Powerball numbers, but continue to fall just short. Last night's Powerball drawing was no different, as now players can win over $200 million if they get the right numbers next time.

Yet again, no one got all five Powerball numbers as well as the Powerball itself. This time, the elusive numbers were 10, 25, 32, 34 and 47, with the Powerball at 5. If any player hit all six of those numbers, they would have won or shared a jackpot worth $186 million.

But with this latest failure, the current Powerball lottery jackpot is now officially up to elite status. The next drawing will be worth $213 million, approaching the largest jackpot of the season, and getting ever so closer to the biggest Powerball grand prize ever. Still, this current run has a few more weeks left to go before reaching the $300 million mark and beyond.

One more failure should make this current jackpot the highest one of the year, as this drought rivals the one in May, where the Powerball numbers were worth $232 million before they were finally all hit on May 27.

In the previous few drawings, not many players got the major consolation prize from hitting the first five Powerball numbers. Last night, however, six players were able to win the $200,000 second prize, in Pennsylvania, Kansas, Minnesota, Colorado, Nebraska and Missouri. In last weekend's lottery, only two Florida players got the first five Powerball numbers.

Though Powerball is getting more attention nowadays, it is not the only lottery game with an increasingly large jackpot. Mega Millions is starting to come out of Powerball's shadow, with a grand prize now up to $146 million. The Mega Millions players in 13 states will try again for that smaller jackpot on Friday night.

As for the Powerball players, they will take yet another shot to finally hit the right numbers on Saturday night, hoping to succeed where so many before them have failed the last few months.
