Powerbook G4 Aluminum Review

I own a Powerbook G4 aluminum lap top, purchased from apple in 2004. This is a great laptop and it came with a 1.67 GHz processor as well as an 80 GB hard drive, it also has a DVD CD-RW drive which is a great feature as well. The Powerbook G4 aluminum laptop replaced the Powerbook G4 titanium book on the market as well as the Powerbook G3 line. Many of these are still being sold for a high price today. Mine shipped with 512 MB of ram but I recently upgraded it to 1 GB of ram. It has a 15" screen.

The Powerbook G4 aluminum lap top was the second Powerbook G4 in the Powerbook G4 line. This lap top was radically different from the previous G3 lap tops and so was the titanium G4. These lap tops were smaller,thinner,lighter and had metal casing, where as the G3 lap tops were more bulky, heavier and had a plastic casing. The apple logo was also positioned right side up instead of upside down. This was one of the many improvements to the Powerbook G4 line. This lap top supports OS X 10.5 Leopard, and that is what is running on my computer right now. It is good for all of today's computing task and may be useful well into the tommorow of the computer industry.

The Powerbook G4 aluminum lap top originally sold for $2499, it was released in 2003 and discontinued in 2006. Many of these lap tops can be found on Ebay at a price range between $500 and $700 dollars. Not too shabby for a six year old computer if you ask me. These computers are still very relevant today and the G4 is still a great processor that will run just about any program you ask of it.

I have recently been getting a "Kernel Panic" message on my laptop every once in a while. This is usually a hardware issue and it has me a little bummed. I will be taking it to the apple store relatively shortly as this is a serious issue that could mean my computer is done for. This screen has often been referred to as "the grey screen of death" in which a grey or black screen comes up. In various different languages on my Powerbook G4 aluminum it says I need to restart my computer.

In conclusion, The Powerbook G4 aluminum lap top is a great computer and can be found on Ebay for about $500-$700 dollars depending on which model you buy. The Powerbook G4 aluminum is probably going to be useful for years to come in the future.
