In general, people date haphazardly and without a plan because they have never really thought about what a good dating life looks like. They have some vague idea of what they want but they are missing vital information that will help them date better and more intelligently. The next time you're having dating problems keep the following ideas in mind to help you avoid future dating problems.
1. Am I looking for someone to fill a hole in my life because I feel empty inside? It's best to work on yourself first before bringing someone in and hoping they'll fix it.
2. Am I doing something with my own life? When you live a life full of fun and challenging activities you are less likely to let someone else destroy or control it.
3. Do I date negative people because my self-esteem is low and I don't really like myself? When we feel bad about ourselves we tend to attract negative people into our lives.
4. Do I know how to meet positive, supportive people to date? Think about where you meet people and whether it leads to meeting the healthiest individuals possible.
5. Am I meeting people that make me feel good about myself? Anyone you date should make you feel better, not worse, about yourself.
6. Do I have the communication and interpersonal skills to date well? Think about whether you actually know how to talk with someone or spot the right people.
7. Why do I date? When you know the answer to this question you will be able to create and follow a plan to meet wonderful people.
You don't have to live with chronic dating problems and you can actually build a rewarding dating life if you remember to get yourself healthy first. If you keep doing the same thing you will get the same results so it's also important to do new things that lead in a positive direction. If you move away from the old behaviors that get you in trouble, then you give yourself a chance to succeed. You deserve to date people that help you feel great and add positive things to your life. Whether you do it depends on you.
Take care,
