Protect sharp tools
You can use the fingers of any type of garden gloves to help protect sharp tools you have lying around in your shed or garage. Simply cut the fingers from the gloves and then slide them over sharp pliers, scissors, screwdrivers, or any other type of sharp tool you can think of. Some of the fingers of the gloves will fit perfectly over the tool, but if they don't, here's what you can do. Just secure the loose cuff with a rubber band, make sure the tool is clean and dry before you store them away to help prevent rusting.
Make puppets
You can cut the fingers off of worn out garden gloves and make them into fun little finger puppets. You can create them however you'd like. Use felt tip pens to draw faces or you can get really creative and use glue, sequins, buttons, or just about anything you can imagine. This is a time to get creative and just have fun.
Remove pet hair
Using your old worn out garden gloves transforms perfectly into a pet hair removal tool. It doesn't matter if the gloves have holes or tears, it will still work fine. Put the gloves on and give your furry friend a good petting. You'll be amazed of how much they love it as well as how much loose hair can be removed.
For removing pet hair from your furniture, a plastic pair of gloves works the best. Simply slide on the gloves and get busy rubbing down your furniture to remove all the pet hair. After you're finished, rinse off the gloves and hang to dry for next time.
So next time you wear out a pair of garden gloves, you won't think twice about tossing them out; hang on to them and they will come in very handy.

Post a CommentI hadn't thought of these ways of using gardening gloves. I especially like the one about using the gloves to stroke pets. That's a great suggestion! I always end up covered in pet hair.

Clever
I have a feeling you're a bit of a pack-rat like me. I always think of other uses for things when my husband assumes it's trash. I have to put things in boxes that say, "Do not throw away...I have a use for this!" haha I'm not too bad, though. P.S. I subscribed to your work. Thanks for all the comments on my articles. I appreciate it. :)
The pet hair and puppets use are extraordinarily bright Dina. How do you come up with such brilliant ideas!? :-)
