Most of the human beings are suffering from the anger syndrome in these days of stress and tensions. Such persons can get angry very easily on small matters, thus spoiling their health considerably as the anger is the basic root cause of major diseases like high blood pressure and heart related problems. The simple pranayama techniques help tremendously in such cases and many major diseases can be easily cured by doing these breathing exercises daily on regular basis. One such useful pranayama is called Chandrabhedi pranayama. This pranayama helps the body to be loose and flexible. It also makes your mind cool and sharp, thus reducing the frequent tendency to get angry.

Sit in straight and erect but comfortable yogic posture, keeping your both the hands on your knees with the thumbs of both the hands touching the first finger. Close your eyes and concentrate by taking slow and deep breaths and feel getting isolated from this world. Once you are ready to start, breathe in very slowly and deeply through the left nostril. Retain your breath up to your full capacity. Perform Moola bandha and Jalandhar bandha simultaneously while holding your breath. Moola bandha is done by pulling your perineum (portion between anus and penis) part up to the maximum. Jalandhar bandha is done by bending your neck in such a way so that your chin touches the pit in the neck. The detailed procedure of doing these bandhas has been explained in my previous articles. Exhale through the right nostril after releasing of both the bandhas. Repeat this exercise for around 10 to 15 times per day. Try to extend the time of holding the breath slowly up to maximum of around 30 to 45 seconds. There is a minute difference between Suryabhedi and Chandrabhedi pranayamas. The inhaling is done through left nostril in Chandrabhedi pranayama and through right nostril in Suryabhedi pranayama. The left nostril represents moon (coolness), while the right nostril represents sun (heat). That is why this Chandrabhedi pranayama brings the coolness to your body and is ideal to perform during the summer season. However, this pranayama may be restricted to around 8 to 10 times per day during peak winter. This pranayama must be performed after anulom-vilom pranayama or after Suryabhedi pranayama in case you are practicing Suryabhedi pranayama. This pranayama can also be done without resorting to Moola and Jalandhar bandha, particularly in case of patients having problems related to respiratory system like asthma.

There are many benefits of practicing this pranayama. The acidity (burning sensations inside the stomach), commonly known as acid burns is very effectively cured through practicing of this pranayama. The body fatigue is also reduced and the individual do not get tired very soon. The total nature of an individual can be changed by doing this pranayama regularly for 3 to 4 months. The person becomes cool, analytical, calm, and do not get tension or anger that easily as compared to other normal persons. The bearing capacity of the individual also increases by this pranayama. In case of sick and physically handicapped people, this pranayama can be practiced in sleeping position also. The key aspect is to practice this pranayama with full faith, trust, and confidence. This pranayama also helps psychic people, who are not balanced mentally and turn violent off and on. Many psychiatrists have been found using this pranayama as part of their regular treatment. It also helps high blood pressure patients by bringing their blood pressure in control within around 3 months period.

My simple advice to all my readers would be to start practicing this pranayama immediately and enjoy all the benefits as explained here in this article.
