Prayer is Important

Answer me when I call to you, O my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; be merciful to me and hear my prayer. [Psalm 4:1]

Many people believe that if you just go to Church you will be blessed. Other people just think that praying for five minutes will be ok in the eyes of God. Going to church and not praying is like going to school and not learning. Praying for five minutes is like doing any project you may have to do, halfway. The more you pray, the better your relationship will be with God. Do you now understand the importance prayer in the Christian world? Let me explain:

If you have ever felt that no one listens to your problems or that no one knows what you're going through, you are wrong. I'm sorry to break it to you, but there is someone out there that knows every aspect of your life. Someone that is so great, we have yet to see that being. Someone so good that his greatness lasts for ever. Someone so caring that he loves us even if we don't know who he is. I am speaking about God. The Lord Almighty loves you and cares about you. God knows everything that is going on in your life. From the smallest to the biggest problems, God knows all. He listens to you when no one else will. Even if you aren't Christian, God still knows you inside and out.

Prayer is one of the most important things in Christianity. If we don't pray, we will never see God's Glory. Now, it is said that we need to pray 10% of the amount of hours in the day. That is two hours and forty minutes out of the day. We can achieve this easily throughout the day. We could wake up early in the morning and pray for about forty minutes. Or we could pray one hour in the morning then during the day pray for about forty minutes then at night before going to sleep we could pray another hour. That makes up for the 10% that we need to pray. It doesn't matter how you pray or how you distribute the time during the day, the point is that praying will affect your life in a good way. No matter what circumstances you may be going through, prayer will make you stronger and let you face things that you would not be able to face if you did not have God's help.

Prayer also gets you closer to God. He will reveal himself to you the more you pray and you will see his glory manifest itself in your life in one way or another. Now, if you are a devoted Christian don't forget to pray. It is one of the most important parts of being a Christian, God Bless!

I call on you, O God, for you will answer me; give ear to me and hear my prayer. [Psalm 17:6]
