Prayer for Peace

Israeli-Palestine Conflict

H. Kris Thomas
No more bloodshed

Hope to all Palestinians
Mercy on them

May the Israeli government be touched with mercy
And concern for the Palestinians
Even those called "enemy"

May they see their oppression of the Palestinian people as a
Reflection of the oppression they face today and have faced
Through the many decades past
May Israel be satisfied
May their thirst for more land be quenched
May the displacements and abuses cease

Palestinians, my prayers for you and your children
For your hope
May your faith remain
May your mercy, too, be preserved in the face of injustice
May you know that your integrity is not contingent upon ownership of land
Peace is on the way

Prayers for Israel and for Palestinians
May your spirits be directed toward peace
And the recognition that we are all one
Act wisely, driven by Spirit
For the purpose of Love

Whatever your name for the Almighty
We are all parts of the holy body of God

Thank you for the reply; I did not know they set aside land for the Palestinians, so it's more of ignorance than confusion on my part. I look forward to your work; you have a wondrous mind! :)

I understand the confusion...this is inspired by what I know of the ever expanding settlements made by the Israeli government, into land set aside for the Palestinians those decades ago. This piece is not intended to speak on the legitimacy of Israel...just the serious humanitarian issue. I appreciate your comment :)

Confused; my understanding is the Palestinians are impeding on Israeli land and that is where the conflict lies. They both claim land and in this claim are where the fighting begins and ends.
