Prayers Not Wishes Really Do Come True!

Onemargaret
For Christmas day, I wish for snow, but, instead I get nothing but rain.
When I get my feelings hurt, I wish for apologies, only to feel more shame.

When I buy that lottery ticket, hoping to claim the big win.
I only get disappointment, since my losing streak is becoming a trend.

Wishing on a star hasn't helped me yet.
Since praying to God and having hope, I no longer fret.

Reading a passage from the Bible really helps to make my day.
Prayer and hope gives me strength to go on, no matter what humans may say.

Prayer helped me land a good job and enabled me to bring home a decent paycheck.
Now, life is easier and I am no longer a nervous wreck.

Being able to feed my family and keep a roof over our heads, too;
Makes me realize that prayers not wishes really do come true!
