Pre Hosted Internet : Grants and Electronic Tools

DrD
There are situations that are embarrassing, and then there are situations that are, really, embarrassing- consider:

A man and his wife were supposed to go to a costume party together one Halloween, but when the time came to go the party, the woman told him to go on without her, because she said she had a terrible headache.

The man reluctantly did, and the suspicious wife decided to see just how faithful her man really was. She put on a different costume and went to the party.

When she got there she saw her husband dancing with a young girl in a sexy costume. Now, even more suspicious, she decided to really put him to the test.

She danced with him and whispered that they should sneak into a bedroom. She insisted they leave the masks on and had sex with him.

Fuming, she ran home to wait for his return. When he got there, she innocently asked if he'd had fun. He told her he hadn't.

After a few minutes at the party, he and some guys had gone across the street to play poker.
He added, "The guy who borrowed my costume said he had a hell of a time, though!"

It is the electronic age, duh (!), and so we have a new set of "things" to deal with, and they aren't less complicated, they are more complicated. So the fun increases for the person trying hard to find a grant, to find funds, to find your clients needs and meet them. The client, on the other hand, gets hit with ads by that weird guy in the question suit who says that anybody who breathes can get a grant. It makes your work as an earnest professional a little bit daunting. But what we want to make sure you have straight is, that at this costume party, you don't want to mess up, and, make sure your mask is the right one and stays with you. Let's call your costume the whole process of working with a client, which we go over in detail a lot, because it is so important, and let's call the mask, all the tools you need. So let's dive in...It's, as Tim Allen used to say, tool time.

First Tool - Computer and, second computer for back up. Watch the person who says, "Ah you don't need a second machine if you got two hard drives, back up on one of them." Sure, until the system goes down...get a second hand computer- they are worth it. If you don't know where to get one, e-mail me- drichard1@hotmail.com, we'll talk. This is essentially the difference between the person who loses 280 hours of work, and the person who prudently doesn't store it all in one place.

Second Tool - Internet, high speed nice but will take dial up plus five. Don't know what dial up plus five is? Talk to me about the technology through the e-mail at drichard1@hotmail.com, you are needing to get up to speed. We will help you any way that we can- but knowing the technology and using the technology are two different things. You will need to understand some of the technology that you are going to be using to make your way.

Well that's all we have for round two - of which there is more, be sure to keep with us on this series as we are just getting started on - the technology - coming up will be a fascinating discussion on hosting and how it helps you, immensely, see you then.

  • working with the web is easy if you use the right tools
  • the internet is a tremendous tool for collecting information
  • clients come in so many flavors and from so many angles
take a client who wanted a grant to open a cooking school, in the school there would be students who needed grant money to attend, with families who had monetary need and the list goes on and on and on...
