Pre-Packed BabyBeReady Bag Takes the Guesswork Out of Parenting

Nicole Feliciano
Parenting skills don't magically develop when you arrive home with a new baby in tow. Take if from Stacie Mindich-Jordan, President of BabyDish, most new parents need all the help they can get. That's why this industrious mom developed her pre-packed diaper bag called the "BabyBeReady."

Like most busy executives, Stacie Mindich-Jordan, was a master at juggling her personal and professional life. She was a sought-after Marketing Director at Hollywood's entertainment news magazines 'Weekly' and 'Daily' Variety. Things changed when Mindich-Jordan had her first child. This seasoned pro had to quickly learn a whole new skill set. Her sojourn into the kid's marketplace was on organic one-she saw a gap in the market and jumped to fill it with her company BabyDish.

Now 37, with both kids (Noah, 6 and Hannah, 3) out of diapers, Mindich-Jordan is sharing her wisdom with the next generation of beleaguered parents in need of help. The first product she developed was the pre-packed BabyBeReady bag. The bag comes in a variety of trendy prints and retails for $125. Open the bag and inside there are all the essentials:

•Rattle/teether
•Bottle
•Pacifier and case
•Sun hat
•Travel wipes and box
•Onesie
•Bib
•Three Diapers
•Burp cloth
•Changing pad

BabyBeReady has been well-received. In fact, the busy California mom is celebrating her first year in business. I recently chatted with the Mindich-Jordan about life, kids and the sharp learning curve of a neophyte parent.

How did the company get started?

I am a mom of two and when my kids were infants I would always forget something in my diaper bag! I started packing my baby's essentials in a plastic Ziploc! I did some research to see if anyone made a fancier bag that held all these essentials and they did not. I came up with the BabyBeReady Diaper Bag Survival Kit as a way to make new mothers' lives easier and more organized.

I knew how frustrating it could be to take my baby to the park, to visit friends, to a restaurant or a quick trip to the supermarket only to realize upon arrival that my unwieldy and disorganized diaper bag was missing something critical, forcing me to head back home. Recognizing that millions of moms experienced the same
problem every day, I seized the opportunity and BabyBeReady Diaper Bags were born.

Who needs this product?

Parents, both mom and dad. Grandparents when taking the kids out on an outing. This bag is an easy grab-bag for the back seat of dad's car, grandma's house, beach house, or under your stroller. It always seemed to take longer to pack a bag for someone else...like your babysitter.

It is a perfect shower gift! People go nuts when the mom to be opens up the BabyBeReady.

How do you keep it clean?

That's the best part! It is covered with PVC vinyl inside and out for
very easy cleaning!

Where is it available?

We sell mostly wholesale to retail stores such as Kitson in Los Angeles, a huge celebrity hang-out or Lesters in NY. Mostly kids boutiques and gift shops.

What item (other than this kit) couldn't you live without?

Unfortunately my Blackberry! If I wasn't able to read my emails all day or pick up messages I wouldn't be able to get things done as fast as I do. I love that "crackberry!"

What's next for BabyDish?

So many things!! We have been expanding already. We are now making bags for twins....One bag gets stocked with two of every item. We have been customizing exclusive bags for certain charities. We created the "Hally Bag", in a breast cancer ribbon pattern. Proceeds go to cancer research.

Our next bag will be a toddler bag that holds crayons,
toys, etc.

Any celebrities sporting the Survival Bag?

If you are a celebrity mom or dad, then you have the BabyBeReady. Names include: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Heidi Klux and Seal, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, Donald Trump and Melania.

Any last words of wisdom for new parents?

It's not a word of wisdom but it is a trick I have shared with all of my mommy friends: When your child starts eating (or shall I say not
eating), letting them pick up food with a tooth-pick is a great trick!
For some reason, kids love eating food on a tooth-pick!
