There are six total shades in this collection: Pure Porcelain (a sumptuous muted white beige hue), Gilded Coral (a peachy pink with a hint of gold metallic hue), Fancy Fuchsia (a pompous cotton candy pink hue), Ancient Jade (a muted seafoam green hue), Sapphire Silk (a deep muted royal blue hue), and Royal Velvet (an alluring dark plum with a hint of iridescent blue green hue). Each shade speaks of lavishness and is reminiscent of high society in Europe back in the day. They are also perfect for spring, mixing traditional pastel with muted monochromatic and dark, sensual hues. Instead of sticking to the "pretty" shades, ORLY has gone past the norm and combined two extreme sides of the color spectrum to create a collection that works and blends well. In my opinion, the most unique shades out of the bunch is "Pure Porcelain", "Guilded Coral", and "Royal Velvet". Although, these colors may appear to have similar hues in other nail polish brands, but none really quite match up to their beauty or the distinction in color tone. "Fancy Fuchsia", "Ancient Jade", and "Sapphire Silk" have similar shades that can be found in past collections of other popular nail polish brands, but when paired with any of the other colors in this particular collection, the ending result equals perfection. These colors should be able to complement all skin tones and are fun colors to experiment with, especially of nail polish adventurers.
This collection is set to debut in March 2011, but can hit store shelves as early as January 2011. These will be available in beauty supply stores, specialty stores, and online beauty retailers. ORLY nail polish products generally cost around seven dollars, but special collections can range to ten dollars a bottle. It may well be worth it to try a shade or two and show your romantic and dark side at the same time.
