Predictions for America's Next Top Model, Season 9

Everyone has to have a guilty pleasure in life and mine is watching America's Next Top Model. The show gives me the chance to escape the daily grind and live vicariously through the contestants on America's Next Top Model.

I am not going to lie. I practice Miss Jay Alexander's walk all the time at home. No one does walking better with an overly dramatic Afro to boot!

I found season nine to have a lot less scandal then I am used to in ANTM world. There were no mail order brides, no lesbians, and really no Divas. The biggest scandal is Heather who had Asperger syndrome. This caused Heather's relationships with the other housemates to be strained, but it was not scandalous.

The three remaining contestants all have there strong points. Saleisha is a Rhianna look-alike complete with the saucy hair cut. She took home the first model contest prize of a photo shoot for Old Navy and a $1000 Old Navy Gift card. Saleisha did have some challenges in the "makeover" episode entitled "The Girl Who Goes Bald" and ended up in the bottom two for her lack of emotion. She survived in part because Victoria's snappy comebacks to Twiggy caused her to be axed.

Saleisha took head of the judges harsh words to heart and stayed out of the bottom three. She recieved praise for her work in the Enrique Iglesias video from Tyra in "The Girls Who Crawl." Saleisha went on to win another challenge in "The Girl Who Starts to Lose Her Cool" when she is paired with a fashion designer from Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising who creates a look just for her. She nails the runway walk and wins the challenge. Saliesha was also one of only two models who made it back from the go-sees on time in China.

Chantal is one of two blondes left in the competition, and we haven't seen a battle of the blondes since Melrose and CariDee in Season Seven. A little known fact about Chantal is that her name is actually Heather, but two Heathers just would not work in the competition so the powers that be decided that she would go by her middle name, Chantal.

Chantal was a natural. This natural modeling ability almost cost her the competition in "The Girls Who Crawl" when she landed in the bottom two with Sarah. The judges felt that she was just cruising along with out making too many significant improvements. Fortunately for her they felt the same way about the other girl in the bottom two, Sarah. Sarah ended up being eliminated because not only had she not shown improvements, but, gasp, she lost weight, and went from being a plus size model to a slightly heavy average model.

Chantal went from being a good model to really improving in the last episode. She really stood out as a model in the group shot. She looked absolutely amazing. The judges agreed. It appeared that Tyra was on the fence about her prior to that photo shoot, but was sold on her after the shoot.

The final contestant is Jenah. She has kind of flown under the radar for me for the entire season. She only stood out in the final two episodes where she ironically was in the bottom two both times. I loved the fact that in the last competition Bianca tried to trip her up with the way the Chinese garment was supposed to look and it backfired. Jenah ended up winning that competition and chose Chantal to share in the prize.

Jenah almost lost this last week because of her "homesickness." The funny thing about this is what does she think the life of a model is, staying in with her family. I was not a Bianca fan, but at least she didn't cry because she was homesick.

So who is my pick for the next top model? Saleisha! Saleisha will be the next Top Model!!!!!
